Exodus - 40

  • 1. ['And the LORD spoke unto Moses', ' saying:']
  • וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר

  • 2. ['’On the first day of the first month shalt thou rear up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.']
  • ביומ החדש הראשונ באחד לחדש תקימ את משכנ אהל מועד

  • 3. ['And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony', ' and thou shalt screen the ark with the veil.']
  • ושמת שמ את ארונ העדות וסכת על הארנ את הפרכת
  • W$MT $M AT ARWN HODWT WSKT OL HARN AT HPRKT

  • 4. ['And thou shalt bring in the table', ' and set in order the bread that is upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick', ' and light the lamps thereof.']
  • והבאת את השלחנ וערכת את ערכו והבאת את המנרה והעלית את נרתיה

  • 5. ['And thou shalt set the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony', ' and put the screen of the door to the tabernacle.']
  • ונתתה את מזבח הזהב לקטרת לפני ארונ העדת ושמת את מסכ הפתח למשכנ
  • WNTTH AT MZBX HZHB LQ+RT LPNY ARWN HODT W$MT AT MSK HPTX LM$KN

  • 6. ['And thou shalt set the altar of burnt-offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.']
  • ונתתה את מזבח העלה לפני פתח משכנ אהל מועד
  • WNTTH AT MZBX HOLH LPNY PTX M$KN AHL MWOD

  • 7. ['And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar', ' and shalt put water therein.']
  • ונתת את הכיר בינ אהל מועד ובינ המזבח ונתת שמ מימ
  • WNTT AT HKYR BYN AHL MWOD WBYN HMZBX WNTT $M MYM

  • 8. ['And thou shalt set up the court round about', ' and hang up the screen of the gate of the court.']
  • ושמת את החצר סביב ונתת את מסכ שער החצר
  • W$MT AT HXCR SBYB WNTT AT MSK $OR HXCR

  • 9. ['And thou shalt take the anointing oil', ' and anoint the tabernacle', ' and all that is therein', ' and shalt hallow it', ' and all the furniture thereof; and it shall be holy.']
  • ולקחת את שמנ המשחה ומשחת את המשכנ ואת כל אשר בו וקדשת אתו ואת כל כליו והיה קדש

  • 10. ['And thou shalt anoint the altar of burnt-offering', ' and all its vessels', ' and sanctify the altar; and the altar shall be most holy.']
  • ומשחת את מזבח העלה ואת כל כליו וקדשת את המזבח והיה המזבח קדש קדשימ

  • 11. ['And thou shalt anoint the laver and its base', ' and sanctify it.']
  • ומשחת את הכיר ואת כנו וקדשת אתו
  • WM$XT AT HKYR WAT KNW WQD$T ATW

  • 12. ['And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tent of meeting', ' and shalt wash them with water.']
  • והקרבת את אהרנ ואת בניו אל פתח אהל מועד ורחצת אתמ במימ
  • WHQRBT AT AHRN WAT BNYW AL PTX AHL MWOD WRXCT ATM BMYM

  • 13. ['And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments; and thou shalt anoint him', ' and sanctify him', ' that he may minister unto Me in the priest’s office.']
  • והלבשת את אהרנ את בגדי הקדש ומשחת אתו וקדשת אתו וכהנ לי

  • 14. ['And thou shalt bring his sons', ' and put tunics upon them.']
  • ואת בניו תקריב והלבשת אתמ כתנת
  • WAT BNYW TQRYB WHLB$T ATM KTNT

  • 15. ['And thou shalt anoint them', ' as thou didst anoint their father', ' that they may minister unto Me in the priest’s office; and their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.’']
  • ומשחת אתמ כאשר משחת את אביהמ וכהנו לי והיתה להית להמ משחתמ לכהנת עולמ לדרתמ

  • 16. ['Thus did Moses; according to all that the LORD commanded him', ' so did he.']
  • ויעש משה ככל אשר צוה יהוה אתו כנ עשה
  • WYO$ M$H KKL A$R CWH YHWH ATW KN O$H

  • 17. ['And it came to pass in the first month in the second year', ' on the first day of the month', ' that the tabernacle was reared up.']
  • ויהי בחדש הראשונ בשנה השנית באחד לחדש הוקמ המשכנ
  • WYHY BXD$ HRA$WN B$NH H$NYT BAXD LXD$ HWQM HM$KN

  • 18. ['And Moses reared up the tabernacle', ' and laid its sockets', ' and set up the boards thereof', ' and put in the bars thereof', ' and reared up its pillars.']
  • ויקמ משה את המשכנ ויתנ את אדניו וישמ את קרשיו ויתנ את בריחיו ויקמ את עמודיו

  • 19. ['And he spread the tent over the tabernacle', ' and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses.']
  • ויפרש את האהל על המשכנ וישמ את מכסה האהל עליו מלמעלה כאשר צוה יהוה את משה

  • 20. ['And he took and put the testimony into the ark', ' and set the staves on the ark', ' and put the ark-cover above upon the ark.']
  • ויקח ויתנ את העדת אל הארנ וישמ את הבדימ על הארנ ויתנ את הכפרת על הארנ מלמעלה

  • 21. ['And he brought the ark into the tabernacle', ' and set up the veil of the screen', ' and screened the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.']
  • ויבא את הארנ אל המשכנ וישמ את פרכת המסכ ויסכ על ארונ העדות כאשר צוה יהוה את משה

  • 22. ['And he put the table in the tent of meeting', ' upon the side of the tabernacle northward', ' without the veil.']
  • ויתנ את השלחנ באהל מועד על ירכ המשכנ צפנה מחוצ לפרכת
  • WYTN AT H$LXN BAHL MWOD OL YRK HM$KN CPNH MXWC LPRKT

  • 23. ['And he set a row of bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.']
  • ויערכ עליו ערכ לחמ לפני יהוה כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
  • WYORK OLYW ORK LXM LPNY YHWH KA$R CWH YHWH AT M$H

  • 24. ['And he put the candlestick in the tent of meeting', ' over against the table', ' on the side of the tabernacle southward.']
  • וישמ את המנרה באהל מועד נכח השלחנ על ירכ המשכנ נגבה
  • WY$M AT HMNRH BAHL MWOD NKX H$LXN OL YRK HM$KN NGBH

  • 25. ['And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.']
  • ויעל הנרת לפני יהוה כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
  • WYOL HNRT LPNY YHWH KA$R CWH YHWH AT M$H

  • 26. ['And he put the golden altar in the tent of meeting before the veil;']
  • וישמ את מזבח הזהב באהל מועד לפני הפרכת
  • WY$M AT MZBX HZHB BAHL MWOD LPNY HPRKT

  • 27. ['and he burnt thereon incense of sweet spices; as the LORD commanded Moses.']
  • ויקטר עליו קטרת סמימ כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
  • WYQ+R OLYW Q+RT SMYM KA$R CWH YHWH AT M$H

  • 28. ['And he put the screen of the door to the tabernacle.']
  • וישמ את מסכ הפתח למשכנ
  • WY$M AT MSK HPTX LM$KN

  • 29. ['And the altar of burnt-offering he set at the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting', ' and offered upon it the burnt-offering and the meal-offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.']
  • ואת מזבח העלה שמ פתח משכנ אהל מועד ויעל עליו את העלה ואת המנחה כאשר צוה יהוה את משה

  • 30. ['And he set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar', ' and put water therein', ' wherewith to wash;']
  • וישמ את הכיר בינ אהל מועד ובינ המזבח ויתנ שמה מימ לרחצה
  • WY$M AT HKYR BYN AHL MWOD WBYN HMZBX WYTN $MH MYM LRXCH

  • 31. ['that Moses and Aaron and his sons might wash their hands and their feet thereat;']
  • ורחצו ממנו משה ואהרנ ובניו את ידיהמ ואת רגליהמ
  • WRXCW MMNW M$H WAHRN WBNYW AT YDYHM WAT RGLYHM

  • 32. ['when they went into the tent of meeting', ' and when they came near unto the altar', ' they should wash; as the LORD commanded Moses.']
  • בבאמ אל אהל מועד ובקרבתמ אל המזבח ירחצו כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
  • BBAM AL AHL MWOD WBQRBTM AL HMZBX YRXCW KA$R CWH YHWH AT M$H

  • 33. ['And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar', ' and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work.']
  • ויקמ את החצר סביב למשכנ ולמזבח ויתנ את מסכ שער החצר ויכל משה את המלאכה

  • 34. ['Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting', ' and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.']
  • ויכס העננ את אהל מועד וכבוד יהוה מלא את המשכנ
  • WYKS HONN AT AHL MWOD WKBWD YHWH MLA AT HM$KN

  • 35. ['And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of meeting', ' because the cloud abode thereon', ' and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.—']
  • ולא יכל משה לבוא אל אהל מועד כי שכנ עליו העננ וכבוד יהוה מלא את המשכנ

  • 36. ['And whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle', ' the children of Israel went onward', ' throughout all their journeys.']
  • ובהעלות העננ מעל המשכנ יסעו בני ישראל בכל מסעיהמ
  • WBHOLWT HONN MOL HM$KN YSOW BNY Y$RAL BKL MSOYHM

  • 37. ['But if the cloud was not taken up', ' then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.']
  • ואמ לא יעלה העננ ולא יסעו עד יומ העלתו
  • WAM LA YOLH HONN WLA YSOW OD YWM HOLTW

  • 38. ['For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day', ' and there was fire therein by night', ' in the sight of all the house of Israel', ' throughout all their journeys.—']
  • כי עננ יהוה על המשכנ יוממ ואש תהיה לילה בו לעיני כל בית ישראל בכל מסעיהמ
